HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Completion of the Duff Avenue Railroad Surveillance System Upgrade Project RESOLUTION NO. 99-49 RESOLUTION APPROVING COMPLETION OF THE DUFF AVENUE RAILROAD SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM UPGRADE PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,the Science Applications International Corporation(SAIC)of Kansas City has satisfactorily completed the Duff Avenue Railroad Crossing Surveillance System Upgrade Project; and, WHEREAS, this project included upgrading the "field" surveillance cameras, system software, and other operating devices to allow the police to obtain enhanced photos identifying motorists driving around the gate arms; and, WHEREAS,the cost to be paid by the City of Ames to the Science Applications International Corporation of Kansas City is $36,760; and, WHEREAS,the associated work was necessary to relocate cameras and wiring on a newly installed street light pole erected as part of the Duff/Lincoln Way intersection improvement project. WHEREAS, this System has been fully funded by the Iowa Department of Transportation and the Union Pacific Railroad; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Duff Avenue Railroad Surveillance System Upgrade Project is hereby accepted and staff is directed to seek reimbursement from the Iowa Department of Transportation in the amount of $36,760.
