HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Accepting Monetary Donation for Public Art RESOLUTION NO. 99-34 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING MONETARY DONATION FOR PUBLIC ART FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,several months ago,the Public Art Commission was approached by local citizen Pat Brown, a long-time supporter of both the City and of public art; and, WHEREAS, she expressed a desire to make a sizeable contribution to the City's public art program—in the name of her husband, Doug Brown—with the intent of encouraging other local philanthropists to lend significant financial support to the public art program; and, WHEREAS,the Brown's wish to contribute$25,000 for public art,and the only restrictions placed upon this contribution are that they be used to further public art acquisition and projects within the community; and, WHEREAS, the intent is to use this donation for the design of art pieces. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the $25,000 donation from Doug and Pat Brown to be used to acquire public art for the City of Ames is hereby accepted.
