RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF AMES AND THE INTERNATIONAL
BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, LOCAL 55
(ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Ames and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers,
Local 55, have a Tentative Agreement concerning contract provisions for FY 1999/00 and FY
2000/01; and,
WHEREAS,the Tentative Agreement provides for a 3.00%wage increase on July 1, 1999,
and a 3.25%wage increase on July 1, 2000; and,
WHEREAS,the Tentative Agreement provides for an increase in the amount of pay per week
of standby duty from 12 hours at the regular rate of pay to 14 hours at the regular rate of pay, and,
WHEREAS, the Tentative Agreement provides for an increase in the amount of life
insurance from$37,500 to $40,000 on July 1, 1999, and from $40,000 to $42,500 on July 1, 2000;
and,
WHEREAS,the Tentative Agreement provides for an addition of one personal day per fiscal
year; and,
WHEREAS, the Tentative Agreement includes a modification to the contract language
dealing with meal allowances and work assignments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the Tentative Agreement between the City of Ames and the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers, Local 55 (Electric Distribution) is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 12th day of January, 1999.
