HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Application for Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) Funding for Traffic Signal Installation at the U.S. #30 Eastbound Off-Ramp/Elwood Drive Intersection RESOLUTION NO. 99-020 RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR TRAFFIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TSIP) FUNDING FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT THE U. S. #30 EASTBOUND OFF-RAMP/ELWOOD DRIVE INTERSECTION FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,the U. S.#30 Eastbound Off-Ramp/Elwood Drive intersection has been highly prioritized for traffic signals due to the high traffic volumes; and, WHEREAS,included in the City Manager's recommended 1999-2004 Capital Improvements Plan(CIP) is a project to install a traffic signal at that intersection; and, WHEREAS, a grant is available to help fund traffic signal installations; and, WHEREAS,in order to meet submittal requirements,the grant application must be submitted at this time; and, WHEREAS, the grant application does not commit the City to implement the project; and, WHEREAS, if the grant application is successful, a grant agreement will follow,by which time the CIP will be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the application for Traffic Safety Improvement Program funding for traffic signal installations at the U. S. #30 Eastbound Off-Ramp/Elwood Drive intersection is hereby approved. ADOPTED THIS 12th day of January, 1999. Diane R.
