RESOLUTION NO. 14-585
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT OF SURVEY FOR
5318 AND 5500 240TII STREET
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, application for a proposed Plat of Survey has been submitted for a boundary line
adjustment per Section 23.309 of the Municipal Code; and,
VTHEREAS,the site is located at 5318 and 5500 240"Street,and the owner is John R.Moore and
Wanda McCay Chaffin Trust; and,
WHEREAS, the real estate description is: Parcel D and Parcel E,which is part of the Northeast
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5"' P.M.,
Story County; and,
WHEREAS,a preliminary decision of approval for the proposed Plat of Survey has been rendered
by the Planning and Housing Department with no conditions; and,
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, that
the Plat of Survey for is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 1 Oth day of November, 2014.

Part of Parcel D the East Half of the Northwest Quarter and part of the Northwest
Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, all in Section 18, Township 83 North, Range 24 West
of the 51h P.M., Story County, Iowa, as shown on the Plat of Survey filed on July 22,
2010 at Instrument No. 10-06869, said part being more particularly described as
follows: Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of said Section 18, said point also being the Northwest Corner of said Parcel D;
thence N89°30'47"E, 861.55 feet along the North line of said Section 18;thence
S00°14'45"E, 433.19 feet;thence N89°30'47"E, 359.55 feet;thence S00°11'40"E;

together being described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest Corner of said
Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence N89°30'47"E, 861.55 feet along the
North line of said Section 18 to the Northwest Corner of said Parcel E and the point of
beginning; thence continuing N89°30'47"E, 359.94 feet to the Northeast Corner of said
Parcel E; thence S00'11'40"E, 433.20 feet; thence S89°30'47"W, 359.55 feet;thence
N00°14'45"W, 433.19 feet to the point of beginning, containing 3.58 acres, which
includes 0.27 acres of existing public right of way.
This Plat of Survey incorporates and is amended for Parcels D & E as shown on the
Plat of Survey filed on July 22, 2010 at Instrument No. 10-06869. New deeds must be
filed for the new parcels.
