AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE DISPOSAL OF AND
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE OWNED BY
THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, TO THE PARK COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF AMES, IOWA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AMES,, IOWA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the following described real estate owned by the
City of Ames, Iowa:
The East 300 feet of the North 374. 2 feet of Lot 6; all that
part of Lot 7 lying North and West of the Chicago and North-
western Railway Company's right-of-way; all that part of Lot
8 lying West of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company's
right-of-way and South of a line which ig° Soul'h of and parallel
to the North line of said Lot 8; and the East 300 feet of the South
180. 2 feet of Lot 9, all in the Northeast Quarter (NE-1) of
Section Ten (10), Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the
5th P. M., Iowa,
be and the same is found to be not necessary for ordinary municipal
purposes and that said real estate should be disposed of and transferred
to the Park Commission of the City of Ames, Iowa.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute in behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa a quit claim deed
to said parcel of land to the Park Commission of the City of Ames, Iowa.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach the same to said deed.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

Ordinance No. 999 be passed on its second reading.

Absent: Mayor DeHart, Councilman Armstrong
Moved by Schilletter and seconded by Brouhard the rules governing
the passage of ordinances be suspended the thir d reading be
omitted and Ordinance No. 999 be placed on its final passage=.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Mayor DeHart, Councilman Armstrong
Moved by Ratterree and seconded by Schilletter Ordinance No. 999
do now pass.

Mayor Pro Tem Judge declared Ordinance No. 999 duly adopted.
I, M. W. Jordan, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby
certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 999 was duly
and properly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 18th
day of July, 1961, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the
22nd day of July, 1961.
