HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Vacating a Portion of Main Street w ORDINANCE NO. 981 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF MAIN STREET ADJACENT TO BLOCK 13 ORIGINAL TOWN OF AMES, IOWA. Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That a portion of Main Street more particulark described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 13, Original Town of Ames, Iowa, thence South to the Southeast corner of said Lot 1, thence easterly along the South line of said Lot 1 if extended easterly to a point 0. 5 feet from the East line of said Lot 1, thence North parallel to the East line of said Lot 1 to a point on the North line of said Lot 1 if extended easterly, thence Westerly to the point of beginning, be and the same is hereby vacated as a public street. Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute in behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa a quit claim deed to said parcel of land to the abutting owners, Louella D. Sweeney, Elizabeth S. Jester, and Jacqueline S. Kloss. Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach the same to said deed. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 3rd day of January , 1961. M. W. Jordan, ity Clerk earle P.
