HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 26 of Municipal Code (Electric) r ORDINANCE NO. 980 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 26-6. 1, 26.-6. 2 and 26-6. 3 THEREOF; AND DESIGNATING NEW DISTRICTS FOR THE BILLING AND COLLECTING CHARGES FOR ELECTRIC ENERGY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Sections 26-6. 1, 26-6. 2 and 26-6. 3 of Chapter 26 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same are hereby repealed and the following be and the same are hereby enacted in lieu thereof to be known as Sections 26-6. 1, 26-6. 2 and 26-6. 3 of the Municipal Code of The City of Ames, Iowa: 26-6. 1 District No. 1. District No. 1 shall include the area beginning at a point in the East line of Section 2, T83N, R-24W in line with the center line of 5th Street extended, thence West to center line of Carroll Avenue, thence North to the center line of 6th Street, thence West to a point 175 feet West of center line of Grand Avenue, thence North to center line 9th Street, thence East 22 feet, thence North to center line 12th Street, thence West to center line Northwestern Avenue, thence North 23. 2 feet, thence West to center line of North Branch C. & NW RY, thence Northwesterly along center line said railway to the center line 16th Street, thence West to the West line Sec. 34-T84N, R24W, thence North, East and South following the existing corporate line of City of Ames to the NE corner of SE4 Sec. 35-T84N, R24W, thence South to point of beginning. 26-6. 2 District No. 2. District No. 2 shall include the area beginning at a point in center line of C & NW RY. with its intersection with the East line of Sec. 2 T83N, R24W, thence West along center line said Railway to its intersection with the South branch line said railway, thence South Westerly along center line said South branch to the center line South 4th Street, thence West along center line South 4th Street to the center line South Oak Avenue, thence North to center line Lincoln Way, thence East to center line Grand Avenue, thence North to centerline 6th Street, thence West to a point 175 feet West of center line Grand Avenue, thence North to center line 9th Street, thence East 22 feet, thence North to center line 12th Street, thence West to center line of Northwestern Avenue, thence North 23. 2feet, thence West to center line C & NW RY, thence Northwesterly along center line said railway to center line 16th Street, thence West to the NE corner SE4 SW4 Sec. 34-T84N-R24W thence South to center line Lincoln Way, thence West along center line Lincoln Way to center line Ash Ave. , thence South to center line Knapp Ave. , thence West to center line Welch Ave. , thence North to center line Chamberlain Ave, thence West to Hayward, thence North to center line Lincoln Way, thence West to West corporate line City of Ames, thence following the existing corporate line South, East and North to point of beginning. -2- ' 26-6. 3. District No. 3. District No. 3 shall include all territory and consumers not contained in Districts 1 and 2 as established by this ordinance. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. I I Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after December 31, 1960 and its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 18th day of October , 1960. M. W.
