HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 937 (Zoning) ORDINANCE NO. 971 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 937 ON ZONING OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTION 42-2. 26 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING A DEFINITION FOR CLUB AND LODGE (PRIVATE). BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 42-2. 26 of Ordinance No. 937 of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed and the following be and the same is hereby enacted and substituted in lieu thereof,to be known as Section 42-2. 26 of Ordinance 937 of the City of Ames, Iowa: 42-2. 26. Club or Lodge (private): An association of persons for the promotion of some non-profit object, who are bona fide members paying annual dues, which owns, hires or leases a building, or portion thereof, except a fraternity or sorority house, the use of such premises being restricted to members and their guests. It shall be permissible to serve food and meals to members and their guests on such premises provided adequate dining room space and kitchen facilities are available and are operated in compliance with state and local municipal laws. Section 2. All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 9th day of August 1960. M. W. Jordan, C' Clerk Pearle P.
