Be It Ordained by the City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That a portion of the North and South alley in Block Nine (9), Original Town of Ames, Iowa, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot One (1), Block Nine (9), Original Town of Ames, Iowa, thence South 120 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot Two (2), thence West 16 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot Nine (9), thence North 120 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot Ten (10), thence East I 16 feet to the place of beginning, all in Block Nine (9), Original Town of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby vacated as a public alley. Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute in behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa a quit claim deed to said parcel of land to the United States of America, subject to present utility and telephone installations now in place. Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach the same to said deed. I Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 5th day of July 1960, Jorda ty Clerk Pearle P. Voting Aye: Armstrong, Judge, Brouhard, Lawlor, and Ratterree Voting Nay: None Absent: Schilletter Moved by Lawlor and seconded by Judge that the rules governing the passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings be omitted, and Ordinance No. 969 be placed on its final passage. Voting Aye: Armstrong, Judge, Brouhard, Lawlor, and Ratterree Voting Nay: None Absent: Schilletter Moved by Ratterree and seconded by Lawlor that Ordinance No. 969 do now pass. Voting Aye: Armstrong, Judge, Brouhard, Lawlor, and Ratterree Voting Nay: None Absent: Schilletter Mayor De Hart declared Ordinance No. 969 duly adopted. (over) t M. W.
