HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Chapter 25 of Municipal Code ORDINANCE NO. 961 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 25-38. 4 and 25-105. 27 THEREOF: DESIGNATING WILSON AVENUE FROM FIFTH STREET TO SIXTH STREET AS ONE-WAY: AND PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF CLARK AVENUE BETWEEN FIFTH AND SIXTH STREETS DURING CERTAIN TIMES AND EXCEPT FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING. Be It Ordained By the City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. That Sections 25-38. 4 and 25-105. 27 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same are hereby repealed and the following be and the same are hereby enacted and substituted in place thereof to be known as Sections 25-38. 4 and 25-105. 27 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa: 25-38. 4 Wilson Avenue from Fifth Street to Sixth Street is hereby designated as "one-way" and it shall be unlawful to enter except from the North. 25-105. 27. Parking is hereby prohibited on the West side of Clark Avenue between Fifth and Sixth Streets between the hours of seven (7) o'clock A. M. and six (6) o'clock P. M. , Monday through Friday except holidays, from September first (1) through June fifteenth (15) of each school year, except in taking on or discharging passengers or freight, and then only such length of time as is necessary for such purpose and within seventy-five (75) feet on each side of the main entrance to the public school abutting on the west of said Clark Avenue. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 22nd day of March 1960. 222 - M. W. Jordan, ity Clerk Pearle P.
