AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF NORTHWESTERN AVENUE IN
THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. That Northwestern Avenue from the north line of Thirteenth
Street to the north line of the Southwest Quarter (SW-1/4) of the Southeast
Quarter (SE-1/4) of Section 34, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the
5th P. M. , Iowa, be and the same is hereby vacated as a public street and
avenue.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
i directed to execute in behalf of the City of Ames quit claim deed or deeds to

said parcel of land above vacated to the abutting property owners as their
respective interests may appear.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach the same to said deed or
deeds.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.

governing the passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and
third readings be omitted, and Ordinance No. 958 be placed on its
final passage.

certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 958 was duly
and properly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 1st
day of March, 1960, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on
the 4th day of March, 1960.
