ORDINANCE NO. 951
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 42-3(b) and 42-4 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 937 OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY ZONING RECENTLY ANNEXED
LAND AS "A" DISTRICT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Sections 42-3(b) and 42-4 of
Ordinance No. 937 of the City of Ames, Iowa, and the official
zoning map therein referred to are hereby amended to include
land recently annexed in "A" Districts (Residence ), said
land being described as follows:
All of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of
Section 35, Township 84 North, Range 24 West of the 5th
P. M. , Iowa, except the South 178.0 feet thereof, and
except the South 303.0 feet of the West 452.95 feet
thereof;
and
Commencing at the Southeast Corner of the Northwest Quarter
of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35, Township 84 North,
Range 24, West of the 5th P. M. , Story County, Iowa, thence
North 10 111 West along the East line of said Northwest
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter 178.0 feet to the point
of beginning, thence North 10 111 West along the East line
of said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter 466.0
feet, thence Southeasterly along a 164.78 foot radius curve
103 feet, thence South 10 111 East 370.0 feet, thence
South 890 101 West 30 feet to the point of beginning;
and
Commencing at the Southeast Corner of the Northwest Quarter
of the Northwest Quarter of Section 35, Townshig 84 North,
Range 24, West of the 5th P. M. , thence North 1 111 West
along the East line of said Northwest Quarter of the North-
west Quarter 1y8.0 feet, thence North 890 101 East 30 feet,
thence South lu 11' East 178.0 feet, thence West along the
South line of the said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter 30 feet to the point of beginning.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and publication as provided
by law.

Moved by Schilletter and seconded by Armstrong that Ordinance No.
951 be passed on its first reading.
Voting Aye: Armstrong, Lawlor, King, Schilletter, and Judge
Voting Nay: None
Moved by Armstrong and seconded by Schilletter that the rules
governing the passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and
third readings be omitted, and Ordinance No. 951 be placed on its
final passage.
Voting Aye: Armstrong, Lawlor, King, Schilletter, and Judge
Voting Nay: None
Moved by Schilletter and seconded by King that Ordinance No. 951
do now pass.
Voting Aye: Armstrong, Lawlor, King, Schilletter, and Judge
Voting Nay: None
Temporary Chairman Judge declared Ordinance No. 951 duly adopted.
I, M. W. Jordan, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby
certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 951 was duly
and properly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 8th
day of December, 1959, and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on
the loth day of December, 1959.
