ORDINANCE NO. 943
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 42-3(b) and 42-4 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 937 OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY ZONING RECENTLY ANNEXED
LAND AS "A" DISTRICT.
Be It Ordained By The City Council of The City of Ames, Iowa,
as follows:
Section 1. That Sections 42-3(b) and 42-4 of Ordinance
No. 937 of the City of Ames, Iowa, and the official zoning map
therein referred to are hereby amended to include land recently
annexed in "A" Districts (Residence) , said land being described
as follows:
A tract of land commencing at a point 180 feet West
of the Southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of
the Northeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 84
North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , thence North
zero degrees, 35 minutes East 532 feet, thence West
720 feet, thence West 13 degrees, 30 minutes, South
277 feet, thence South 469 feet, thence d ue East to
the point of beginning, containing twelve point one
(12.1) acres.
The Northwest Quarter (NW4) of the Southwest Quarter
NSW and all that part of the Northeast Quarter
E-fl of the Southwest Quarter (SW4) lying West of
the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Right of Way,
and all that part of the Northwest Quarter (NW4) of
the Southeast Quarter (SE4)lying West of the right
of way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company,
all in Section 34, Township 84 North, Range 24 West
of the 5th P.M. , Iowa, containing 74 acres.
Lots seven (7) and eight (8) in Lee' s Subdivision of
the West 634.75 feet of the Northeast Fractional Quarter
(NE Fr.!) and all of the East Half (E2) of the Northwest
Fractional Quarter (NW Fr. 4) , except three (3) acres
in the Northwest Corner thereof, being described as 30
rods East and West and 16 rods North and South and ten
(10) acres off the West side of the East Half (EZ) of
the Northwest Fractional Quarter (NW Fr. 4) lying South
of said three acres all in Section 5, Township 83 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , Iowa, owned by Maynard
L. Spear and Mary M. Spear, husband and wife.
Lot "A" of the North 16 rods of the West 30 rods of
the Northeast Quarter (NE4) of the Northwest Quarter
(NW4) of said Section 5, owned by Corbet M. Wagoner
and Ralph Wagoner.
Lots "B", "C", "D" and "E" of the North 16 Rods of
the West 30 rods of the Northeast Quarter (NE J of
the Northwest Quarter (NW4) of said Section 5, owned
by Corbett M. Wagoner.
Lots "F" and "G" of the North 16 rods of the West 30
rods of the Northeast Quarter (NE4) of the Northwest
Quarter (NW4) of said Section 5, owned by Otho Clapp.
Lot "H" of the North 16 rods of the West 30 Rods of
the Northeast Quarter (NE4) of the Northwest Quarter
(NW4) of said Section 5, owned by Everett W. Clapp.

West 688.9 feet of West one-half of Northwest Fractional
Quarter of Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24 West
of the 5th P.M. , Iowa, except the North 723.0 feet
thereof,
and
West one-half of Northwest Fractional Quarter of
Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the
5th P.M. , Iowa, except the West 723.0 feet of North
723.0 feet thereof,
and
10 acres on the West side of the East one-half of the
Northwest Fractional Quarter of Section 5, Township
83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , Iowa, the
north line of which is located 264.0 feet South of
the North line of said Section 5 and the West line
being the West line of the East one-half of said
Northwest Fractional Quarter of Section 5, Township
83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , Iowa
and
Commencing at a point on the South Line of the South-
west Quarter of Section 32, Township 84 North, Range
24 West of the 5th P.M. , Iowa, 589.6 feet Epst of the
Southwest corner of said Southwest Quarter Section 32;
thence North 00 37' East 768.3 feet 8o the Right of Way
Line of C & NW Railway; thence S. 80 19' East 995.0
feet along the Right of Way Line of C & NW Railway;
thence South 10 001 West 634.8 feet to the South Line
of said Southwest Quarter Section 32; thence West 983.6
feet along the South Line of said Southwest Quarter
Section 32 to the point of beginning and containing
15.88 acres.
The West 723 feet of the NA4 of the NWT, and the
West 723 feet of the North 459.2 feet of the SWu
of the NW,-i„ all in Section 5, Township 83 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P.M.
Commencing in the Northwest corner of the Southwest
Quarter of Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24
West of the 5th P.M. , Iowa, thence South 407.6 feet,
thence South 890 44� East 688. 2 feet thence North
00 05' East 393.4 feet, thence North A80 35' West
688.9 feet to the point of beginning.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in f#ll force and
effect from and after its passage and publication as provided
by law.

passed on its first reading.

Moved by Lawlor and seconded by Armstrong that the rules governing
the passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third read-
ings be omitted, and Ordinance No. 943 be placed on its final
passage.

now pass.

certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 943 was duly
and properly passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 4th
