BY THE CITY CO 7,4'CIL OF THE CITY OF A?IES, IM41 , AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Sections 31-6, 31-137 31-137 31-40 and 31-44 of the :iunicipal Code of the City of Aries, Iowa be and the same is hereby repealed and the following shall be substituted in place thereof, to be ?mown respectively as Sections 31-6, 31-13 ',1-18, 31-40 and 31-44 of the :-iunicipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa. 31-6. Permits Not Required. No permit will be required for the repair of faucets or closet tanks, or for the replacing a valve when used for the same purpose, or for repairing leaks in distribution piping if there is no change in any form from the existing location and the pipe being replaced was of adequate size to carry the unit fixture load. 31-13. Notification of Inspection. When the water service pipe has been completed from the water main to the stop in the 'casement and before such work has been covered or in any way concealed from view or any fixture set, the work shall be tested and inspected as provided herein. 31-18. Supply From One Connection. Not more than one building shall be supplied with water from one service connection. In case two or more meters are supplied from one connection a separate line must be laid from lot line to meter including curb cock and curb box for each tenant or user. 31-40. Service Pipe. All service pipe concealed from view between the water main and the house service valve, including visible service pipe in pits and manholes shall be of cast iron, copper, or lead. Coupling in ,,,rater service lines shall be of a swedged type mechanical joint. 31-44. Stop Cock. There shall be an inverted key, "Ringstvl0l, type meter valve of Ford or Dueller pattern, or equivalent, attached to every water service pipe inside the building wall. Such valve to be set not less than two and one half (2�) feet above the basement floor. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as prescribed by law. Passed this th__.. day of January, 1959• i. tid. Jordan City Clerk Pearle P.
