ORDINANCE NO. 915
AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE EAST AND WEST ALLEY IN BLOCK 5, BLACK'S
2ND ADDITION TO THE CITY OR AMES, IOWA.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ares, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. That the East and West Alley from the
East line of Sherman Avenue to the West line of the
North and South alley in Block 5, Black' s 2nd Addition
to the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same is hereby
vacated as a public alley.
Section 2. That it is hereby determined as necessary
and proper that the City of Ames retain and reserve a
right of way permit and easement for any and all public
utilities, as now installed, or which may hereinafter
be installed, over, under and across said parcel of
land.
Section 3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are
authorized and directed to execute in behalf of the
City of Ames quit claim deed or deeds, subject to
utility easements, to said parcel of land above
vacated to the abutting property owners as their re-
spective interests may appear.
Section 4. That the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to make a certified copy of this
ordinance and attach the same to said deed or deeds.
Section 5. Any ordinance or parts of ordinance
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and publication
as provided by law.

on its first reading.

Moved by Smith and seconded by Lawlor that the rules goverxing the passage
of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings be omitted and
Ord. No. 915 be placed on its final passage.

Voting Nay: None

Mayor De Hart declared Ordinance No. 915 duly adopted.
I, J. W. Prather, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby certify
that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 915 was duly and properly passed
at a meeting of the City Council on the 16th day of December, 1958 and
published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 18th day of December, 1958.
