ORDINANCE NO. 902
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 26-5 OF CHAPTER 26 ON ELECTRIC RATES
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY REPEALING
SECTION 26-5 THEREOF AND ESTABLISHING A NEW POWER RATE SCHEDULE
FOR ELECTRIC ENERGY AND SERVICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, I04A, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 26-5 of Chapter 26 on Electric Rates
of The Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and the same
is hereby repealed and the following shall be substituted in
place thereof and shall be known as Section 26-5 of Chapter 26
of the Municipal Code of The City of Ames, Iowa:
26-5 Power Rate Schedule.
First 400 K. W. Hrs. or less of electric
energy used in one meter reading interval of
approximately 30 days $0.05 per K. W. Hr.
Next 600 K. W. Hrs. or less of electric
energy used in one meter reading interval of
approximately 30 days $0.045 per K. W. Hr.
Next 3000 K. 4. Hrs. or less of electric
energy used in one meter reading interval of
approximately 30 days $0.03 per K. 4. Hr.
Next 6000 K. W. Hrs. or less of electric
energy used in one meter reading interval of
approximately 30 days $0.025 per K. W. Hr.
All over 10,000 K. W. Hrs. of electric
energy used in one meter reading interval of
approximately 30 days $0.0175 per K. 4. Hr. '
Applicable to power users having a single
motor installation of 3/4 H. P. or more.
Minimum charge for meter reading intervals
of approximately thirty (30) days or fraction
thereof:
$1.00 per H. P. for first 5 H. P.
. 50 per H. P. for next 45 H. P.
. 25 per H. P. for all over 50 H. P.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
after October 11, 1958 and from and after its passage and publi-
cation as provided by law.

passage of ordinances be suspended, the third reading be omitted and
Ordinance No. 902 be placed on its final passage.

Mayor De Hart declared Ordinance No. 902 duly adopted.

that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 902 was duly and properly passe
at a meeting of the City Council on the 16th day of September, 1958 and
published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 20th day of September, 1958.
