AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 ON TRAFFIC OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, BY CHANGING METERED PARKING AREAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES,
IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 25-111. 5 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames, Iowa is hereby repealed and the following be sub-
stituted in place thereof and shall be known as Section 25-111. 5 0
the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa.
Section 25-111. 5. Meter Rates - Fourth Ward Parking
Lot No. 2. The rate for parking shall be as follows :
(a) Upon the deposit of a five cent (50)
coin, a parking time limit of six (v) hours
shall be established.
(b) Upon a deposit of two (2) five cent (50)
coins or one (1 ) ten cent (100) coin, a parking
time limit of twelve (12) hours shall be established.
Section 2. That Section 25-111.8 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames, Iowa be and the same is hereby repealed and the
following be substituted in place thereof to be known as Section
25-111.8 of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section 25-111.8 Meter Rates. Gate controls at
Third Ward Parking Lot No. 1. The entrance gate may be
opened at all times during the 24 hour period of the
day by deposit of one (1) ten cent (100) coin to admit
a vehicle. The exit gate may be opened at all times
during the 24 hour period of the day by operating the
automatic treadle located at the approach to said gate.
Section 3. That Section 25-114 A. l. c. be and the same is
hereby repealed.
Section 4. That Section 25-114 A. 1.e, be and the same is
hereby repealed and the following substituted in place thereof
to be known as Section 25-114. A. l. e, of the Municipal Code of
the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section 25-114 A. l.e. Duff Avenue from Main Street
to Fifth Street with the exception of three (3 ) parking
meter spaces on the West side of Duff Avenue immediately
South of Fifth Street.

Se ction 5. That Section 25-114 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Ames, Iowa be and the same is hereby amended by adding
the following Sections thereto:
25. 114.C. Maximum Parking Time Limit Three Hundred
(300) Minutes. In parking meter zones established as
having a maximum parking time limit of 300 minutes, the
stands supporting the meters shall be painted light blue.
Upon the deposit of certain coins an allowed parking time
shall be established up to the maximum time limit as
follows :
a. Upon the deposit of a ten cent (100 ) coin,
a parking time limit of five (5) hours shall be
established.
25.114.6. 1. The following areas shall have a parking
time limit of Three Hundred (300) minutes :
a. Sixth Street from Duff Avenut to Clark Avenue.
b. Duff Avenue from Fifth Street to Sixth Street.
Section o. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 7. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.

of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings be omitted and

that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 901 was duly and properly passed
at a meeting of the City Council on the 19th day of August, 1958 and published
in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 23rd day of August, 1958.
