AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 42-3(b) and 42-4 of CHAPTER 42
ON ZONING OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY
CHANGING CERTAIN 'A" DISTRICTS (RESIDENCE) AREA TO ''D" DISTRICTS
(BUSINESS AND LIGHT INDUSTRY) .
Be It Ordained by the City Council of The City of Ames, Icwa, as
follows:
Section 1. That Section 42-3(b) and Section 42-4 of Chapter
42 on Zoning of the Municipal Code of the City of Ames, Iowa,
and the official coning map therein referred to are hereby amended
so as to than e and rezone from an "A" District (Residence) to
'D" District Business and li`rht Industry) the following property:
Beginning at the SE Corner of the NE 1/4 of Section 11,
Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P. M. ,
Story County, Iowa, thence West to a point 320 feet
East of the center of said Section, thence North 923.7
feet, thence `;Test 320.0 feet, thence North 400.0 feet,
thence. East 320.0 .feet, thence North 532.0 feet, thence
East 198.0 feet, thence North 66.0 feet, thence East
346.0 feet, thence North 132.0 feet, thence East 148.0
feet, thence North 132.0 feet, thence East 814.4 feet,
thence North 180.0 feet, thence East 825.5 feet, thence
South to point of beginning.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after passage and publication as provided by law.

passage of ordinances be suspended, the third reading be omitted and
Ord. No, 896 be placed on its final passage.

that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 896 was duly and properly passed
at a meeting of the City Council on the 19th day of August, 1958 and published
in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 23rdday of August, 1958.
