AN ORDINANCE VACATING COLE PLACE, A STREET IN LEW COLE' S
UBDIVISION AND UNDERWOOD' S ADDITION TO AMES, IOWA.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section 1. That Cole Place, a street between East Sixth
Street and East Seventh Street, in Lew Cole' s Subdivision and
Underwood' s Addition, now in and forming a part of the City of
Ames, Iowa, is hereby vacated as a public street and avenue.
Section 2. That it is hereby determined as necessary and
proper that the City of Ames retain a right-of-way and easement
for any and all public utilities as now installed over, under,
and across said parcel of land.
Section 3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized
and directed to execute in behalf of the City of Ames quit claim
deed or deeds, subject to utility easements, to said parcel of
land above vacated to the abutting property owners as their
respective interests may appear.
Section 4. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach
the same to said deed or deeds.
Section 5. Any ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and publication as provided
by law.

Mayor De Hart declared Ordinance No. 886 passed on its first reading only
March 18, 1958
Moved by Judge and seconded by King that Ordinance No. 886 be passed on
its second reading.

Voting Nay: None
Absent: Armstrong

Moved by Smith and seconded by Schilletter that the rules governing the
passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings omitted
and Ordinance No. 886 be placed on its final passage.

Absent: Armstrong
Moved by Schilletter and seconded by Judge that Ordinance No. 886 do now
pas s.

Mayor De Hart declared Ordinance No. 886 duly adopted.
I, J. W. Prather, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby certify
that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 886 was duly and properly passed
at a meeting of the City Council on the 18th day of March, 1958 and
