ORDINANCE NO. 881
ORDINANCE AMENDING TRAFFIC ORDINANCE CHAPTER 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF AMES, BY CHANGING METER RATES IN FOURTH WARD PARKING
LOT 42, AND TRAFFIC PATTERN ON STANTON AVENUE.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa:
SECTION 1 . Section 25-111.5 of the Ames Municipal Code is hereby
repealed and the following shall hereinafter be referred to as said
section:
25-111.5. Meter Rates - Fourth Ward Parking Lot '42.
The rate for parking shall be five (5�) cents for four
(4) hours, with a twelve (12) hour maximum time limit
for parking.
SECTION 2: Section 25-38.7 of the Ames Municipal Code is hereby
repealed and the following shall hereinafter be referred to as
said section:
25-38.7. Stanton Avenue from Knapp Street to the South
line of the Fourth Ward Parking Lot No. 2 is hereby
designated as a "one-way", and it shall be unlawful to
enter from Knapp Street.
SECTION 3: Section 25-105.17 of the Ames Municipal Code is hereby
repealed and the following shall hereinafter be referred to as said
section:
25-105.17. Parking is hereby prohibited at all times on
both sides of Stanton Avenue from Lincoln Way to the
South line of the Fourth Ward Parking Lot No. 2, and on
the East side of Stanton Avenue from the South lino of
said parking lot to the North line of Knapp Street.
SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage and publication, as provided by law.

on its first reading.

Moved by Smith and seconded by Judge that the rules governing the passage
of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings be omitted, and
Ordinance No. 881 be placed on its final passage.

Mayor Lawlor declared Ordinance No. 881 duly passed.

that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 881 was duly and properly passed
at a meeting of the City Council on the 19th day of November, 1957 and
published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 26th day of November, 1957.
