ORDINANCE NO. 874
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 42-3 (b) AND 42-4 OF CHAPTER 42 OF
AMES MUNICIPAL CODE BY ZONING RECENTLY ANNEXED LAND AS "Do'
DISTRICT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A MES, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 42-3 (b) and Section 42-4 of Chapter 42
of Ames Municipal Code and the official Zoning Map therein referred to
are hereby amended to include land recently annexed in "D" District, business
and light industry, said land being described as follows:
That part of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of Section 1, Township
83 North Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , SLor,, County, Iowa,
lying North of the right-of-way of the Chicago & Northwestern
Railroad, and
V
Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) of said Section 1, except the
following described tract of land:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter
(SE 1/4) of said Section 1 thence North 300. 0 feet; thence
East 232. 5 feet; thence North 126, 0 feet; thence East
440. 0 feet; thence South 84. 0 feet; thence East 168. 0 feet;
thence South 342. 0 feet to the South line of Section l; thence
Wast along the South line of Section 1, 840. 5 feet to the
point of beginning.
and
Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of the
Northeast Quarter (SW 1/4 SW 1/4 NE 1/4) Section 1,
Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Iowa.
Section Z. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall ba in full force and effect
from and after passage and publication as provided by law.

passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings omitted
and Ordinance No. 874 be placed on its final passage.

ata meeting of the CityCouncil on the 3rd day of September„ 1957 and
published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 7th day of September, 1957.
