ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BUILDING LINES ON
EACH SIDE OF SOUTH FIFTH STREET,
HIGH ATIENUE AND CHERRY AVENUE
Be It Ordained By the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows :-
SECTION 1 : Building lines, South Fifth Street„ A.
building line is hereby established on each side
of South Fifth Street, parallel to and forty (40)
feet from the center line of said street.
SECTION 2 : Building lines, High Avenue . A building
line is hereby established on each side of High
Avenue, parallel to and forty (40) feet from the
center line of said avenue .
SECTION? 3 : Building lines, Cherry Avenue. A build-
ing line is hereby established on each side of
Cherry Avenue, parallel to and forty (L1,_0) feet
from the center line of said. avenue .
SECTION 4 : No encroaching construction. No build-
ings, structures, or additions thereto shall be
erected on land lying between said building lines
as here established on South Fifth Street, High
Avenue and Cherry Avenue,
SECTION 5 : Penalty. Any person, firm, or corporation
violating any provisions of this ordinance shall upon
conviction be fined a sum not exceeding one hundred
($ 100 .00) Dollars and in aefault of payment thereof
shall be committed to the city or county jail for
a term of not exceeding thirty ( 30) days.
SECTION 6 : Repeal. That all ordinances or parts
of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTIOIT 7 : That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its final passage
and publication as provided by law.

ordinances be suspended, the third reading omitted and Ordinance No. 870

now pass.
