AN ORDINANCE VACATING A SHORT SECTION OF PLA.TTFD
BUT UNNAMED STREET, EXTENDING SOUTITHESTERLY
FROM WOODLAND AVENUE, AMES IOWA.
Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows :
SECTION 1 : That a parcel of land described as :
The short section of platted but unnamed
street extending; southwesterly from Wood-
land 'Street, and lving !Nest of 01sents
Subdivision, and East of Lots 1, 4, and
5, Ellis ' Subdivision., in Ames, Iowa.
is hereby determined to be unnecessary as a part of a
public street and is hereby vacated and discontinued
SECTION 2 : That it is hereby determined as necessary
and proper that the City retain a right-of-way and ease-
ment for any and all public utilities as now installed
over, under, and across the said parcel of land.
SECTION 3 : That the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute quit claim deeds,
subject to utility easements, conveying, said parcel of
land to the abutting; property owners, as their respect-
ive interests may appear.
SECTION : That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to make a certified copy of this ordinance and
attach the same to said deeds .
SECTION 5: 411 ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 6 : This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after passage and publication as provide
by law.

Moved by Smith and seconded by Schilletter that the rules governing the
passage of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings be
omitted and Ordinance No. 869 be placed on its final passage.

Absent: None
Moved by Armstrong and seconded by Bolton that Ordinance No. 869 do
now pass.

Mayor Lawlor declared Ordinance No. 869 duly adopted.
I, J. W. Prather, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby certify
that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 369 was properly and duly
passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of May, 1957
and published in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 13th day of May, 1957.
