HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Vacating a Certain Piece of Land 4 ORDINANCE NO. 867 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A TRIANGULAR PIECE OF LAND ON THE 'NEST SIDE OF HYLAND AVENUE, IMMEDIA«: TELY NORTH OF OAKLAND STREET. Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows : SECTION 1 : That a parcel of land described as : A triangular parcel of land starting at the Southeast corner of Lot 3, Block 1, Briley ' s Addition to Ames, Iovva, thence North and Westerly along the East lines of Lots 3, 8 and 9, Block 1 of said addition, thence East approximately 37 .7 feet to the Nest line of Hyland Avenue, projected South, thence South along said projected West line of Hyland Avenue to its intersection with the North line of Oakland ,>treet, thence '7estward along said North line to point of beginning, subject to easement for sanitary sewer as now installed, the same being adjacent to and a part of Hylana Avenue in Ames, Iowa, is hereby determined to be unnecessary as a part of a public street and is hereby vacated and dis- continued. SECTION 2: That it is hereby determined as necessary and proper that the City retain a right-of-way and ease- ment .for any and all public utilities as now installed over, under, and across the said parcel of land. SECTION 3 : That the Mayor and the C i ty Clerk are hereby authorized anu directed to execute quit claim deeds, subject to utility easements, conveying said parcel of land to the abutting property owners, as their respect- ive interests may appear. SECTION T:!-iat the CitIT Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to make a certified copy of this ordinance and attach the same to said deeds . SECTION 5 : All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- ... lictwith the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
