ORDINANCE AMENDING TRAFFIC ORDINANCE NO. 843 BY ESTABLISHING
PARKING RATES AND TIME LIMITS FOR THE TWO FOURTH WARD PARKIN
LOTS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION AND USE OF PARKING
METERS ON SAID LOTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AME S, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS-
Section 1. Ordinance No. 843 is hereby amended by adding the
following sections:--
Section211. 2. Metered Parking Lots. The offstreet parking
lots established in the Fourth Ward in 1956 are hereby
determined to be metered parking lots and shall be
designated as follows:
a. Fourth Ward Parking Lot No. 1 is that parking lot
lying south of Lincoln Way between Hayward Avenue and
Welch Avenue.
b. Fourth Ward Parking Lot No. 2 is that parking lot
lying south of Lincoln Way between Stanton and Lynn.
Section 211. 3. Time Schedule. Parking meters on said lots
shall be in effect from 7 A. M. until 6 P.M. on Mondays
through Saturdays, excluding holidays.
Section 211. 4. Meter Rates - Lot No. 1. The rate for
parking shall be $. 05 for 6 0 minutes with a 2 hour
maximum time limit for par ,,_-ing.
Section 211. 5. Meter Rates - Lot No. 2. The rate for
parking shall be $. 05 for 90 minutes, with a 12 hour
maximum time limit for parking, except that the parking
stalls in the East-West exit drive shall have a maximum
time limit of 9 0 minutes.
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage and publication as provided by law.

on its first reading.

Moved by Smith and seconded by Schilletter that the rules governing the passag
of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings be ornitted and
Ordinance No. 860 be placed on its final passage.

Moved by Schilletter and seconded by Armstrong that Ordinance No. 860 do
now pass.

Mayor Lawlor declared Ordinance No. 860 duly adopted.

that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 860 was duly and properly passed
at a meeting of the City Council on the 30th day of October, 1956 and published
in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 9th day of November, 1956.
