AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO . �` �" BY
ESTABLISHING NEWT DESIGNATIONS FOR COUNCIL
STANDING COMMITTEES
Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of
Ames, Iowa, as follows :
SECTION 1: Section 18 of Ordi ance No.
is hereby repealed and the fol owing shaII—
hereafter be known as Section 6 of said
Ordinance :
SECTION 18 : Standing Co ittees .
The Mayor shall appoint s x standing
committees each of which hall consist
of three members of the Council :
1. Finance and Ordinance .
2. Municipal enterprise and recreation.
3. Streets .
4. Utilities .
5. General Government & Public Safety,
b. Sanitation and Health.
The first member named shall be chairman
thereof.
SECTION 2 All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 : This ordinance shall be in full force
and of t from and after passage and publication
as provided by law.
Passed this 3rd day of July, 1956.

Moved by Smith and seconded by De Hart that Ordinance No. 848 be passed
on its first reading.
Voting Aye: Armstrong, Judge, Smith, De Hart and Schilletter
Voting Nay: None
Absent: Bolton
Moved by De Hart and seconded by Judge that the rules governing the passage
of ordinances be suspended, the second and third readings be omitted and
Ordinance No. 848 be placed on its final passage.
Voting Aye: Armstrong, Judge, Smith, De Hart and Schilletter
Voting Nay: None
Absent: Bolton
Moved by Schilletter and seconded by De Hart that Ordinance No. 848 do no
pass.

Mayor Lawlor declared Ord. No. 848 duly adopted.
