HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 542 (Plumbing) ORDINANCE NO. 785 ORDINANCE AMENDING PLUMBING ORDINANCE NO. 542 9 BY ESTABLISHING CONNECTION FEES FOR WATER SERVICE. Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames , Iowa , as follows: SECTION 1 : Ordinance #542 is hereby amended by in- serting after Section 20.2 the following section to be designated 20.3 . Section 20.3 . Water Service Connection Fees. Any applicant for plumbing permit in which a connection to the municipal water system is contemplated shall, in addition to other fees herein provided , pay a water service connection fee determined by the following schedule : 5/8 - 3/4 inch service - $1.00 per front foot of roperty to be serviced. Minimum 950.00. 1 - 1 1/2 inch service - $1. 50 per front foot. Minimum $75.00. 2 inch service - $2.00 per front foot. Minimum $100.00. Over 2 inches - $2.00 per front foot for 2 inch, plus $1.00 per front foot per inch over 2 inches. Minimum $100.00 plus $100.00 per inch over 2 inches. Where the size of the connection exceeds the size stated in the schedule , the charge shall be for the next larger size stated. Fees herein shall not be charged where a new connection replaces an old one of the same size. A larger size connection shall be charged on the basis set forth above. Multiple family dwellings using one connection from the city water mains shall be charged one connection fee only. A curb box and a meter shall be set for each family unit. Costs of extension of the city water mains to users outside the city limits shall be paid in full bi' those desiring such extension. Each such extension shall be made at the discretion of tie City Council only. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and publication as pro- vided by law, Passed this 15 day of February 1955. W. rat er City Clerk P.
