AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ANY PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION FROM
OPERATING ANY SHOOTING GALLERY, WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING A
LICENSE AND PAYING THE FEE THEREFOR, RFGUL•ATi1V'_-Z 'TIE OPERATION
THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR THE PUNISHMENT FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE
PROVISIONS HEREOF AND REPEALING SECTIONS 1, 8 and 13 OF ORDINANCE
NUMBER 430 AND SECTION 9A OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 725 AND ALL OTHER
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFAMES, IOWA:
Section 1. License Required. No person, firm or corporation shall
i carry on or conduct a shooting gallery without first procuring a license as
herein provided and paying the license fee therefor.

1 Section 2. Application For License. Before any license shall be
issued under the provisions of this ordinance, the person, firm or corporation
applying therefore shall apply, by written application to the City Council therefor,
which application shall state the name and address of the party to whom the licens
is to be issued and the location of the place where the shooting gallery is to be
{ operated.

Section 3. Issuance of License. The City Council upon receipt of such
application shall consider the same and if in the opinion of the Council the
i granting of such license would be proper, shall authorize the issuance of
such license by the City Clerk, upon payment to him of the fee hereinafter
referred to, and he shall retain a record thereof.
Section 4. License Fee. The license fee for a shooting gallery shall
be twenty-five dollars ($25. 00) for one year or part thereof. All licenses shall
expire on December 31st of the year issued.
Section 5. Hours of Closing. All games, amusements, or entertain-
ments of any kind or nature whatsoever in any shootinggallery shall cease daily
at twelve (12) o'clock, midnight, and shall not begin before eight (8) o'clock in
the morning of each week day. The shooting gallery shall not operate on Sundays
Section 6. Gambling Prohibited. Every shooting gallery shall be
conducted in a quiet, orderly manner. There shall be no games of chance of
any kind in connection with any shooting gallery.
Section 7. Revocation of License. The City Council may at any time
revoke the license granted for the operation of any shooting gallery upon satis-
factory evidence that the provisions of this or other ordinances are not being
complied with.
Section 8. Penalty. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof,
shall be fined a sum not exceeil.ing $100. 00 and in default of payment thereof
shall be committed to jail for a term not exceeding thirty (30) days.
Section 9. Repeal. Sections 1, 8 and 13 of Ordinance Number 430 and
Section 9a of Ordinance Number 725 and all other ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with any of the provisions of this ordinance are hereby
repealed.
Section 10. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by law.
