No. 759 AN ORDINANCE DEFINING THE CORPORATE TERRITORY AND LIMITS OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA AND DIVIDING THE CITY OF AMES INTO WA=ZDS AND PRECINCTS AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBERS 564, 654, 353 AND ALL AMENDMENTS THERETO. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA. Section 1. Corporate Limits. The corporate boundaries and limits of the City of Ames, Iowa heretofore and at various times, established by law, or by the acts of the city council, are hereby codified, determined and declared to be as follows: Beginning at the East 1/4 corner of Section 11, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the fifth Principal Meredian; thence North to the East 1/4 1/4 corner of the Southeast 1/4, section 35, Township 84 North, Range 24 West; thence West to the center of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 35; thence North to the Nor th 1/4 1/4 corner of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 35; thence west to the center of said Section 35; thence North to a point 471. 92 feet North of the North 1/4 corner of said Section 35; thence West 512 feet; thence North 41 degrees 36 minutes West, 592 feet; thence South 15 degrees 21 minutes West, 532. 65 feet; thence South 434 feet; thence East 122 feet; thence South to a point 33 feet North of the South line of the Northeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of said Section 35; thence west to the west line of said Section 35; thence south 33 feet; thence west to the center of the Northeast 1/4 Section 35, Township 84 North, Range 24 West; thence South to the South 1/4 corner of the Northeast 1/4 of said Section 34; thence West to the center of said Section 34; thence South to the Easterly line of the right-of-way of the lChicago and Northwestern Railway; thence South Easterly along the Easterly line of said right-of-way to the South line of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 34; thence West to a point 675 feet West of the Northwest corner of the 1!Southwest 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4, Section 32, Township 84 North, Range 24 W thence South to the South line of the right-of-way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway; thence westerly along the South line said right-of-way 424 feet; thence 'South to the South line of Section 32; thence East 419. 2 feet; thence South to the 'East and West 1/4 line of Section 5, Township 83 North, Range 24 West; thence EiEast to the center of said Section 5; thence South to a point 363 feet North of the Northwest corner of the Southwest 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 5; thence West 330 feet; thence Sath 363 feet; thence East 330 feet to the North and South 1/ line of said Section 5; thence South to a point 1980 feet South of the North 1/4 corner of Section 8, Township 83 North, Range 24 West; thence East to the East line of said Section 8; thence South to the East 1/4 corner of said Section 8; thence East to the North 1/4 1/4 corner of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 9, Township 83 North, Range 24 West; thence South 468 feet; thence East 175 feet; thence South 420 feet; thence East 160 feet; thence South 15 feet; thence East 250 feet; thence South 11 degrees 47 minutes West, 308 feet; thence South 79 degrees 33 minutes East, 100 feet; thence South 74 degrees East 200 feet; thence East 483 feet to the East line of said Section 9; thence North to the East 1/4 corner of said Section 9; thence East to the point of beginning. Section 2. Division into wards. The territory of the City of Ames, shall be divided into four (4) wards. Section Z. 1. First ward. The first ward shall consist of all that part Of the city which lies north of the main line tracks of the Chicago & No-thwestern railway company and east of the center line of Burnett avenue. Section 2. 2. Second Ward. The second ward shall consist of all that part of the city which lies north of the main line tracks of the Chicago & North- western railway; west of the center line of Burnett Avenue and east of the west ,.quarter-quarter line of Section three (3), Township eighty-three (83) North, and Section thirty-four (34) Township eighty-four (84) North, Range twenty- four (24) west, to-wit: the line running north and south eighty (80) rods west of the center line of said sections. Section 2. 3. Third Ward. The third ward shall consist of all that part of the city lying south of the main line tracks of the Chicago & Northwestern railway and east of the west quarter-quarter line of Sections three (3) and ten (10), IlTownship eighty-three (83) North, Range twenty-four (24) West, to-wit: the line running north and south eighty-(80) rods west of the center lineofsaid consist ofsec all that• IISection 2. 4. Fourth Ward. Section 3. Second ward Precincts. The second ward shall be divided into two voting precincts known and as herein described. Section 3. 1. Second ward precinct number 1. M. , Iowa. 5 Repeal. Ordinances numbers 564, 654, and 353 and all Section p Ij ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 6.
