ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BUILDING LINES ON EACH
SIDE OF SIXTH STREET, FROM DUFF TO GRAND AVENUE.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of
Ames , Iowa , as follows:
SECTION 1: Building lines. A building line is
hereby established on each side of Sixth Street,
from Duff Avenue to Grand Avenue , parallel to and
422 feet from the center of Sixth Street.
SECTION 2 : No enioaching construction. No
building, structures , or additions thereto shall
be erected on land lying between said building
line and Sixth Street.
SECTION 1: Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation
violating any provisions of this ordinance shall
upon conviction be fined a sum not exceeding one
hundred dollars ($100.00) and in default of payment
thereof shall be committed to the city or county
jail for a term of not exceeding thirty (30) days.
SECTION 4: Repeal. That all ordinances or parts
of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its final passage
and publication as provided by law.

meeting of the City Council on the lst day of February, 1955 and published in
the Ames Daily Tribune on the 3rd day of February, 1955.
