HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 728 (Traffic) f ORDINANCE NO. 748 ORDINANCE APENDING TRAFFIC ORDINANCE #728 , BY PROVIDING FOR USE OF SPECIAL TICKETS, PENALTY, AND DEPOSIT BOXES FOR OVTER-TIME PARKING. Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames , Iowa , as follows : SECTION 1: That Ordinance #728 is hereby amended by inserting immediately after Section 236.1 the following: Section 2 6 .2: Over-time Parking Violations. The penalty provided in Section 236.1 shall not a,jply to a ticket issued for over-time parsing , provided the recipient will within 24 hours after the time of the commission of the violation, place fifty cents in the envelope upon which the over-time parking notice is printed , and place the same in one of the special containers provided for that purpose near the front door of the City Hall, and at the intersection of Welch Street and Lincoln Way or at such other collection points as may from time to time be provided. Nothing in this section shall prevent the imposition of the penalty provided in Section 236.1 if , in the opinion of the Court , a greater penalty is required in dealing with repeated or frequent violations. SECTION 2 : All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict -with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
