HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 695 (Dog License) ORDINANCE NO. 747 ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 695 BY PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF. Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames , , Iowa , as follows: SECTION 1: Section 9 of Ordinance No. 695 is hereby specifically repealed and the following shall herein- after be known as Section 9 of said ordinance. Section 9: Enforcement Provisions. a. The City Manager with the approval of the City Health Officer shall apooint an enforcement agent who shall work under the direction of the City Health Officer and perform the services incident to the im- pounding and disposition of animals as herein. ' provided. Said enforcement officer may be on a part time basis and to facilitate his work he may be appointed as a special police officer. He shall not , however, be eligible to participate in the Health and Retirement program of the Police Department , unless he is already -a qualified member of said department. b. Any person violating any provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction be fined . a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars , and in default of payment thereof shall be com- mitted to the City or County jail for a term of not exceeding thirty days. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed. SECTION 3 : This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and publication as pro- vided by law. Passed this 120h day of p;' ril 1954.
