HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 728 (Traffic and Parking) ORDINANCE NO. 741 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 728, AriT ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC AND PARKING UPON THE STREETS, AVENUES, ALLEYS, ARID PUBLIC PLJ:CES OF THE CITY OF AMES$ IOWA BY INSERTING NEW SECTIONS 205.52, 205.53 and 204.3, 205.54s 202.100 and 202.101 AND BY AMENDING SECTIONS 205.40 and 205.22, AND BY REPEALING SECTION 201.14. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES$ IOWA: Section 1: . That Ordinance No. 728 is hereby amended by Inserting immediately after Section 205.51 the .ollowing Section 205. 5 Section 205.52: Parking is hereby prohibited at all times on the West side of Brookridge Avenue from the North line of Lee Street to the South line of Ninth Street. Section 2: That Ordinance No. 728 is hereby amended by nserting immediately after Section 205.52 the following Section 05.53: Section 205.53: Parking is hereby prohibited at all ti,-es o►1 the North m'L6* of Thirte,�►ntz St7-e*t _f'ror, the east line of Grand Avenue to fifty (50) feet East of Grand Avenue, Section 3: That Ordinance No. 728 is hereby amended by nserting immediately after section 205.53 the following section 205.5 : Section 2 qt : Parking is hereby prohibited on both sides of Brookridge Avenue fromthe north l ine of Sixth Street to fifty (50) feet north of the north line of Sixth Street. Section 11: Section 205.40 of Ordinance No. 728 is hereby spe - fically .repealed and the followin shall hereinafter be known as ection 205.40 of Ordinance No. 729: Section 205.40: Parkin; is hereby prohibited at all -times, except Sundays, on the East side of South Kellogg Avenue from the South line of Lincoln Way to the North line of South Second Street. Section 5: That Ordinance 11o. 728 is hereby amended by nserting immediately after Section 204.2 the following Section Section 204.3: Parking is limited to thirty (30) minutes on the South Side of West Street from the West line of Campus Avenue to the East line of Howard Avenue as provided in Section 204.1. Section 6: Section 205.22 of Ojildinance No. 728 as amended y Ordinance No. 733 is hereby specifically repealed and the following hall hereinafter be known as Section 205.20 of Ordinance No. 728: Section 205.22: Parking is hereby prohibited at all times on Lincoln Way, . except that portion between Stanton and Hayward Avenues. Section 7: That Ordinance No. 728 is hereby amended y inserting immediately after Sectiion 202.3 the following: Section 202. 100: Limited Parking, Sixty (60) minutes.— The parking of vehicles on all week days except Mondays, 1 between the hours of Eight (8) O 'clock A.M. and Six (6) O'clock P.M. , and on Mondays between the hours of Eight (8) O' clock A.M. and Nine (9) O'clock P.M. shall be limited to Sixty (60) Minutes in certain locations as designate: in this ordinance. Signs shall be posted In such locations indicating said limit. Section 8. That Ordinance No. 728 is hereby amended by lnserting immediately after Section 202. 100 the following Section o. 202.101: Section 202.101: Parking is limited to Sixty (60) Minutes on the municipality-leased parking lot abutting on Fifth Street and Kellogg Avenue, mote particularly deli-ibed as an area including approximately t :e South Fit (50) Feet of Lot Six (6) , the South Fifty ( 0 Feet of Lot Eight (8) on said premises all in Block Eight (8) , Original Town of Ames, Story County, Iowa, as provided in Section 202.100. Section 9: Section 201.14 of Ordinance No. 728 is hereby specifically repealed. Section 10: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed. Section 11: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and publication as provided by law. Passed this 15th day of December, 1953. i fl . ? jrather, Cite Clerk L.
