AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 663 - "AN ORDINANCE SETTING
UP DISTRICTS AND REGULATING RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR TH' . SALE OF ,
WATER AND RELATING TO THE PAYMENT OF BILLS AND MINIMUM MONTHLY
CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, STORY
COUNTY, IOWA:
Section 1. That Sections 1, "Rate Schedule" of Ordinance No. 663 of the
City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa is hereby specifically
repealed and the following shall hereinafter be known as Section 1 of said
Ordinance No. 663.
Section 1 - "City Rate Schedule". The amount to be charged for the
monthly use of water from each water meter connected to the water supply system
of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be computed from the following schedule of net rates.
First 1000 cu. ft. of water used in any one meter reading interval
of approximately 30 days per 100 cubic feet - $ .50
Next 4000 cu. ft. of water used in any one meter reading interval
of approximately 30 days per 100 cubic feet - $ .46
All over 5000 cubic feet of water used in any one meter reading
interval of approximately 30 days per 100 cubic feet - $.32
The above rates shall be based on the consumption of water through one
meter and no combination of meter readings shall be used in computing the amount
to be charged. j

Section 2. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 663 of the City Ordinances of

the City of Ames, Iowa is hereby specifically repealed and the following shall
hereinafter be known as Section 3 of said Ordinance No. 663.
Section 3. - "Rural Rates" - The amount to be charged for the use
of water from each water meter connected to the water supply system
of the City of Ames, Iowa, located outside the corporate limits of
the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be ccrnputed from the following schedule
of rates:
First 1000 cu. ft. of water used in any one meter reading interval
of approximately 30 days, per 100 cubic feet - $ 1.00
Next 4000 cubic feet of water used in any one meter reading interval
of approximately 30 days per 100 cubic feet - $ .92
All over 5000 cubic feet of water used in any one meter reading
interval of approximate y 30 days per 100 cubic feet - $ .64
The above rates shall be based on the consumption of water through one
meter and no combinations of meter readings shall be used in computing the amour t
to be charged.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of these amendments are hereby repealed.
Section 4. These amendments to Ordinance No. 663 of the City Ordinances
of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in full force and effect on all bills rendered
after September lst, 1952, upon passage and publication as provided by law.
