ORDINANCE NO. 714
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 647. "AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING TRAFFIC AND PARKING UPON THE STREETS, AVENUES,
ALLEYS AND PUBLIC PLACES OF THE CITY OF AMES, "BY AMENDING
SECTION 16. "LIMITED PARKING - - NINETY MINUTES."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
Section 1. That Section 16, "Limited Parking--Ninety Minutes."
of Ordinance No. 647 of the city Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa,
is hereby specifically repealed and the following shall hereinafter be
known as Section 16 of said Ordinance No. 647:
"Section 16. Limited Pa king --Ninety Minutes.
The parking of vehicles on all week days, except Mondays,
between the hours of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 6:00 o'clock p.m.
and on Mondays between the hours of 8:00 o!.clock a.m. and
9:00 o'clock p.m., shall be limited to ninety (90) minutes in
the following places.
(a) Fifth Street from Burnett Ave. to Wilson Ave.
(b) Douglas Avenue from Fifth Street to Sixth
Street.
(c) South side of Lincoln Nay between Lynn and
Stanton Avenues.
(d) Both sides of Lincoln Way from Stanton Ave. to Hayward Ave
(e) West side of Arelch Avenue from Lincoln Way to
Chamberlain Street.
(f) Both sides of Hayward Avenue from the south
line of Lincoln Nay to the north line of Chamberlain St.
(g) East side of Welch Ave. from Lincoln Way to a
point opposite the south line of Chamberlain Street
extended.
(h) Burnett A enue from Fifth Street to Sixth Street.
(i) Both sides of Sixth Street from the west line of
Douglas Avenue to the East line of the alley between
Douglas and Kellogg, except at entrance of the Ames
Public Library for a distance of 25 f eet.
(j) Both sides of Kellogg Avenue from the north
line of Lincoln ✓Vay, north to a point 50 feet south
of the south rails of the North ,'� estern Railway crossing.
(k) Both sides of Main Street from the east edge of
Duff Avenue East to the cross fence.
(1) The east side of Clark Avenue from the north liner
of Fifth street to the south line of Sixth Street except
at entrance to Junior High School for a distance of 25 feet.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This amendment to Ordinance No. 647 of the City
Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in full force and effect
from and after passage and publication as provided by law.
