HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 646 (Parking Meters) Ordinance No. 713 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 646, AN ORDINANCE REG- ULATING AND CONTROLLING THE USE OF PARKING METERS AND DEFINING AND PROVIDING FOR THE. ESTABLISHMENT OF PARKNG METER ZONES UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND HIGHWAYS BY AMENDING SECTION 2 "PARKING METER ZONES". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA.: Section I. That Section 2 "Parking Meter Zones" of Ordinance No. 646 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa is hereby specifically repealed and the following shall hereinafter be known as Section 2. "Parking Meter Zones" of said Ordinance No. 646: "Section 2. Parking Meter Zones. There are hereby established certain zones, to be known as parking meter zones. (a) The following streets shall comprise the parking meter zones: (1) Both sides of Main Street from Duff live. to Clark Ave. (2) Both sides of Douglas avenue from Main Street to Fifth Street. (3) Both sides of Kellogg Avenue from the North line of the Chicago and North ffestern Railway track to the South line of Sixth Street, except the space in front of the Post Office on the West side of Kellogg from the South line of Sixth Street South to the North line of the Fast-west alley and except the East side of Kellogg from the North line of Fifth Street North to the North line of the East-West alley as extended. (4) Both sides of Fifth Street from Duff Avenue to Burnett Avenue except the space on the North side of the City Hall reserved for official cars. (5) Both sides of Burnett Avenue from the North line of the east-west alley South of Main Street to the South line of Fifth Street. (b) Said parking meter zones are hereby established from the hours of 8:00 o'clock a.m. to 6:00 o'clock p.m., excepting Sundays, Holidays and Mondays and from the hours of 8:00 o/clock a.m. , to 9:00 o'clock p.m., on Mondays. (c) Said parking meter zones shall include such other streets or places as may from time to time be hereafter created by ordinance of the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed. Section 3. This amendment to Ordinance No. 646 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and publication as provided by law.
