AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 355, AN ORDINANCE
CONCERNING THE POWERS AND THE BUSINESS, THE MEETING AND
THE RULES OF THE CITY COUNCIL, BY AMENDING SECTION 2 THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA:
Section 1. That Section 2, Ordinance No. 355 of the City of
Ames, Iowa is hereby specifically repealed and the following shall
hereinafter be known as Section 2 of said Ordinance No. 355:
Section 2. The Council shall assemble on the
second secular day of January following their election
at 12:00 o'clock noon in the council chamber in the
City Hall and then and there qualify and organize,
except that for the election held in November, 1951, the
elective officers shall be chosen to succeed those
whose terms of office expire on the first Monday
in April, 1952 and the Council shall assemble on
that date at 12:00 o'clock noon in the council chamber
in the City Hall and then and there qualify and organize.
Four members shall be necessary to constitute a
quorum.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This amendment to Ordinance No. 355 of the City
Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa shall be in full force and effect
from and after passage and publication as provided by law.

Moved by Moore and seconded by De La Hunt that Ordinance No. 712 do
now pass.

Mayor declared Ordinance No. 712 passed.
I, J. W. Prather, City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, do hereby certify
that the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 712 was duly and properly
passed at a meeting of the City Council on the 23rd day of October, 1951,
and published in the Ames Daily Tribune the 26th day of October, 1951.
