AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 647, AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING TRAFFIC, AND PARKING UPON THE STREETS, AVENUES,
ALLEYS AND PUBLIC PLACES OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA BY
AMENDING SECTION 16A, MUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA.
Section 1. That Section 16A of Ordinance No. 647 of the City
Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, is hereby specifically repealed and
the following shall be hereinafter known as Section 16A of Ordinance No. 647.
Section 16A. Municipal Parking Lots . The parking of
all vehicles on Municipally owned, leased, or controlled
parking lots, shall be limited as follows:
(a) The parking of all vehicles on week days except
Mondays between the hours of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and
6:00 o'clock p.m. and on Mondays between the hours
of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock p.m. shall be
limited to ninety (90) minutes in the leased Municipal
parking lot abutting on Fifth Street and Kellogg
Avenue, more particularly described as an area
including approximately the south fifty (50) feet of
Lot Six (6), the south fifty (50) feet of Lot Eight (8) ,
and the area on Lots Six (6), Seven (7), and Eight (8)
situated east of the store building on said premises
all in Block Eight (8), Original Town of Ames,
Story County, Iowa.
(b) The parking of all vehicles on week days
including Sunday shall be limited to twenty-four
(24) hours in the Municipally owned parking lot
at Sixth and Douglas more particularly described
as Lots Three (3), Four (4) and Five (5), Block
Five (5) Original Town of Ames, Iowa; and in
the municipally owned parking lot in front of the
Chicago and Northwestern Depot more partic-
ularly described as beginning at a point at the
intersection of the West line of Clark Avenue
and the ;South Line of Main Street thence South
along the West line of Clark Avenue 149 feet,
thence Westerly 531 feet to a point 105 feet
South of the South line of Main Street, thence North
105 feet to the South Line of Main Street, thence
East along the said South line of 1Viain ;Street to the
point of beginning.
Section 2. All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This amendment to Ordinance No. 647 of the City
Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in force and effect from
and after its passage and publication as provided by law.

the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 711 was duly and properly passed at
a meeting of the City Council on the 23rd day of October, 1951, and published
in the Ames Daily Tribune the 26th day of October, 1951.
