HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 355 (City Council Meetings) a• ' ORDINANCE NO. 703 AN AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE NO.355 CONCERNING THE POWERS AND THE BUSINESS AND RULES OF THE CITY COUNCIL; SPECIFICALLY AMENDING SECTION 6. REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section. That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 355 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, is hereby specifically repealed and the following shall hereinafter be known as Section 6 of Ordinance No. 355: "Section 6. Regular meetings of the Council shall be held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 8 o'clock p.m. The Council may by resolution provide for additional regular meetings. Four members shall be necessary to constitute a quorum, but a smaller number shall have jurisdiction to adjourn to any date prior to that of the next regular meeting or to take such steps as they may deem advisable or necessary to bring in the absent membei s." Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed. Section 3. This amendment to Ordinance No. 355 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in force and effect from and after passage and publication as provided by law.
