ORDINANCE NO. 692

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 647, "AN ORDINANCE REGU-
LATING TRAFFIC AND PARKING UPON THE STREETS, AVENUES, ALLEYS
AND PUBLIC PLACES OF THE CITY OF AMES," BY AMENDING SECTION 16
"LIMITED PARKING--NINETY MINUTES," AND BY AMENDING SECTION 19a
"PARKING PROHIBITED."
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section I. That Section 16, "Limited Parking--Ninety Minutes," of
Ordinance No. 647 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, is hereby
specifically repealed and the following shall hereinafter be known as Section 1
of said Ordinance No. 647:
"Section 16. Limited Parking--Ninety Minutes. The parking
of vehicles on all week days, except Saturdays, between the hours
of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 6:00 o'clock p.m., and on Saturdays between
I the hours of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock p.m., shall be limited
to ninety (90) minutes in the following places:

i� (a) Fifth Street from Duff Avenue to Wilson Avenue.
(b) Douglas Avenue from Fifth Street to Sixth Street.
(c) West side of Kellogg Avenue from the north line of Fifth
Street to the east and west alley between Fifth and Sixth
Streets and from the north line of the Chicago and North
I' Western Railway right-of-way to Main Street.

I' (d) East side of Kellogg Avenue from the north line of Fifth
III Street to the south line of Sixth Street and from the
;I north line of the Chicago and North Western Railway
I+ right-of-way to Main Street.
j' (e) South side of Lincoln Nay between Lynn and Stanton
(I Avenues.
!. (f) Both sides of Lincoln Way from Stanton Avenue to Hayward
Avenue.

West side of Welch [venue from Lincoln Way to Chamber-
lain Street.
(h) East side of Welch Avenue from Lincoln Way a point

!I opposite the south line of Chamberlain Street extended.
�I (i) East side of Hayward Avenue from the south line of Lincoln
Way to the north line of Chamberlain Street.

(j) Burnett Avenue from Sixth Street to the first alley south
of Main Street.

(k) Both sides of Sixth Street from the west line of Douglas
j Avenue to the east line of the alley between Douglas and
j Kellogg, except at entrance of the Ames Public Library
for a distance of 25 feet.

(1) Both sides of Kellogg Avenue from the norta line of Lincoln
'Way, north to a point 50 feet south of the south rails of the
({ North Western Railway crossing.

it (m) Both sides of Main Street from the east edge of Duff Ave-
nue east to the cross fence.
it (n) The east side of Clark Avenue from the north line of Fifth
Street to the south line of Sixth Street except at entrance
to Junior High School for a distance of 25 feet.

Section 2. That Section 19a, "Parking Prohibited," of Ordinance No.
647 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, is hereby specifically
repealed and the following shall hereinafter be known as Section 19a of said
Ordinance No. 647.
"Section 19a. Parking Prohibited. The parking of vehicles
I is also hereby prohibited at all times in the following places:

(a) On the east side of Duff Avenue from the north line of
i Fifth Street to the south line of Sixth Street.

(b) On the north side of West Street from Sheldon Avenue
II to Hyland Avenue.

I (c) On the east side of South Kellog Avenue from Lincoln
jj Way to South Second Street.

(d) On the south side of Sixth Street from the east line of
j Wilson Avenue to the west line of Burnett Avenue
i{ during school hours.
�! (e) The west side of Clark Avenue from the north line of
Fifth Street to the south line of Sixth Street during
it school hours.
Ij Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.

Section 4. This amendment to Ordinance No. 647 of the City Ordinance
of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in full force and effect from and after pass
{; age and publication as provided by law.
