AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 647, "AN ORDINANCE REGU-
LATING TRAFFIC AND PARKING UPON T,-IE STREETS, AVENUES, ALLEYS
AND PUBLIC PLACES OF THE CITY OF ANTES," BY AMENDING 'SECTION 16,
"LIMITED PARKING -- NINETY MINUTES," AND BY AMENDING SECTION 6 ,
"U TURNS."
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section 1. That Section 16, Limited parking--ninety minutes, of Ordin-
ance No. 647 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, is hereby
specifically repealed and the following shall hereinafter be known as Section 16
of said Ordinance No. 647:
"Section 16. Limited parking--ninety minutes. The parking of
vehicles on all week days, except Saturdays between the hours of 8:00
o'clock a.m. and 6:00 o'clock p.m.,and on Saturdays between the hours
of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 9:00 o'clock p.m. shall be limited to ninety
(90) minutes in the following places;
(a) Fifth Street from Duff Avenue to Wilson Avenue.
(b) Douglas Avenue from Fifth Street to Sixth Street.
(c) West side of Kellogg Avenue from the north line of Fifth
Street to the east and west alley between Fifth and Sixth
Streets and from the north line of the Chicago and North
Western Railway right-of-way to Iviain Street.
(d) East side of Kellogg Avenue from the north line of Fifth
Street to the south line of Sixth Street and from the north line
of the Chicago and North Western Railway right-of-way to
Main Street.
(e) On the south side of Sixth Street between Wilson Avenue
and the north and south alley between Burnett and Clark
Avenues.
(f) South side of Lincoln Way between Lynn and Stanton
Avenues.
(g) Both sides of Lincoln Way from Stanton Avenue to
Hayward Avenue.
(h) West side of Welch Avenue from Lincoln Way to
Chamberlain Street.
(i) East side of Welch Avenue from Lincoln Way to a point
opposite the south line of Chamberlain Street extended.
(j) East side of Hayward Avenue from the south line of
Lincoln Way to the north line of Chamberlain Street.

(k) Burnett Avenue from Sixth Street to the first alley
south of Main Street.
(1) Both sides of Sixth Street from Cle west line of Douglas
Avenue to the east line of the alley between Douglas and
Kellogg."
Section 2. That Section 67, 'U' Turns, of Ordinance No. 647 of the Cit
Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, is hereby specifically repealed and the
following shall hereinafter be known as Section 67 of said Ordinance No. 647;
"Section 67. 'U`Turns. Vehicles are hereby prohibited from
making a complete or 'U' turn within the limits of the following desig-
nated street intersections:
(a) Douglas Avenue and Main Street.
(b) Kellogg Avenue and Main Street.
(c) Burnett Avenue and N.ain Street.
(d) Welch Avenue and Lincoln Way.
(e) Duff Avenue and Lincoln Way.
(f) Grand Avenue and Lincoln 1� ay.
(g) Kellogg Avenue and Fifth Street.
(h) Douglas Avenue and Fifth Street.
(i) Burnett Avenue and Fift_i Street.
(j) Stanton Avenue and Lincoln Way.
(k) Grand Avenue at Fifth Street.
(1) Duff Avenue and Main Street.
(m) Clark Avenue and Main Street.
(n) Kellogg Avenue and Sixth Street."
Section 3. All ordinances or Darts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This amendment to Ordinance No. 647 of the City OrdinancE s
of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in full force and effect from and after pass-
age and publication as provided by law.

Mayor declared Ordinance No. 685 passed.

the above and foregoing Ordinance No. 685 was duly and properly passed at
a meeting of the City Council on the 6th day of March, 1950, and published
in the Ames Daily Tribune on the 14thday of March, 1950.
