AN ORDINANCE NAMING CERTAIN STREETS AND AVENUES IN THE CITY
OF AMES, IOWA.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa.
Section 1. That the former Story County Road known as
Garfield Avenue, and situated on Lots 3 and 10 in the subdivision
of the North one-half of Section 5, Township 83 North of Range
24, West of the 5th P. M. , Iowa, is hereby established as
Garfield Avenue.
Section 2. That the road intersecting and running east of
Garfield Avenue and located on the South 30 feet of Lots 1 and
2 and the North 30 feet of Lots 11 and 12 all in the subdivision
of the North one-half of Section 5, Township 83 North of Range
24, West of the 5th P. M. , Iowa, is hereby established as Locust
Street.
Section 3. That the street now located beginning at the
West Quarter corner of Section 65, Township 84 North of Range
24, west of the 5th P. M. , Iowa, and running East to a point
100 rods East of the center of said Sectinn 359 Township 84
North of Range 24, West of the 5th P. M. , Iowa, is hereby
established as Twentieth Street.
Section 4. That the street now located beginning at
the Northeast corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast
Quarter of Section 34, Township 84 North of Range 24, West of
the 5th P. M. , Iowa, and running West to the Chicago and North-
western Railway Right-of-way, is hereby established as Twenty
Fourth Street.
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and publication as provided
by law.
