All ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 542, PARTICULARLY SECTION 29
OF ORDINANCE N0. 542.
RE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TFIE CITY OF 411ES1 IOWA:
That Section 29 of Ordinance No. 542 of the City Ordinances j
of the City of Ames, Io7a, is hereby specifically revealed and
that the following shall hereinafter be !,morn as Section 29 of
Ordinance No. 542:
'Section 29. Backfillinp '_House service ditches
witri.in street limits. The City will backfill all
house service ditches and excavations within the
limits of all streets, ^venues, and Public places
within the corporate limits of the City.
The .fa.ster Plumber shall notify the City Manager' s
office when such ditches, or excava..tions, are ready
for backfilling and the City will fill the same as
Promptly as -:possible thereafter. The responsibility
of the ::!aster Plumber for the maintenance of red
lir-hts, barricades, or other Protection shall cease
ti h.en. t.?le City begins the work of backfillin�- the
ditch or not later than 48 hours from the time of the
receipt of rritten notification by the City 1:?ane. der
that the ditch is ready for backfillinr,.
The Citv "ill charge the "'raster Plumber the sum of
three cents ( .03�,) per cubic foot of ditch for such
backf ill ing i7,,ork. 11
All ordinances or Darts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed.
This amendment to Ordinance No. 542 of the Cit-r Ordinances
of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and Publication as Provided by la.tT.
