A FUND AND APPROPRIATING THERETO THE SUM OF $2000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE COST AND EXPENSE OF MAINTAINING A UNIT OF THE CITIZENS SERVICE CORPS ESTABLISHED NTTHTN AND FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA fHEREAS, Senate File No. 240 as passed by the Fiftieth General Assembly of the State of Iowa does authorize and empower in municipality's in its discretion upon the request of the local Defense Council to appropriate from any funds which it may have on hand, such sums as are necessary to pay the cost and expense of maintaining defense counci]S�un3ts of Citizens Defense Corps, and Citizens Service Corps established within and for such municipali vq,vt, and WHEREAS, the local Defense Council created and established in and i for the City of Ames, Iowa, have requested the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, to appropriate the sum of 82000 for the purpose of paying; the cost and expense of maintain]n7 a unit of the i Citizens Service Corps established in and for the City of A mes, Iowa, an WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ames, Towa, deems the request proper and believes it to be to the best interest of the citizens of said city to appropriate the sum so requested for the specified purpose. a NOW THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Ames , Iowa, do hereby appropriate and set aside the sum of 2000 from the Electric € Utility Fund of said city, said money to be placed in a fund known ii as the Citizens Service Corps Fund for the express and only purpose of paying the cost and expense of maintaining said corps. Section 2. The City Auditor and Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to take such steps and do such acts as are necessary to i carry out the provisions of the preceding section. I Section 3. No monies may be expended from said fund until i proper claims have been filed ae;ainst said fund and the same I allowed in the same manner as all other claims against anv fund of the City of Ames, all as provided by ordinance or statute. i Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law. Passed this 17th day of May 1943. Published in the Ames Daily Tribune, May 19, 1943. N.
