AN ORDLIN'ANCEL DEFINING THE POIJERS AND DUTIZ3 OF THE CITY TREASURER.
Be It Ordained b-:f the City Council of the Cit.-%,r of Aries, Iowa:
Section 1. General Duties. The City Treasurer shall receive
all money payable to the city and disburse the aa-me only on warrvana
dr,�,.wn and signed by the -)
-- roper officer, se:-,,led with the City seal,

and perform such other duties as may be -prescribed by law or
ordinance. He shall keep in a book provided by the City a registex
of all warrants reported to him by the City Clerk.
Section 2. Monthly Returns. He shall make returns monthly,
or oftener if required by the Council, to the officer drawing
such warrants showing the warrants -.)aid and the amount of prin-
cipal and interest naid.
Section 3. Report of Financial Condition, He shall make a
written re,,-)ort tinder oath to the council at its first regi-ilar
meeting in each month rffio,.-jn�-, the financial condition of the
City.
Section 4. Private Use of Funds. No Treasurer shall loan
or In any manner use for private purposes any funds coming into
his hands as Treasurer.
Section 5. Bond. The bond of the City Treasurer shp.11 be
in the sum of not to exceed 610
,� 000.00 and the City of Ames ,-hall
pay the --easonable expense of procuring said bond, provided that
� premium thereon does not exceed one per cent per Punnum of the
amount thereof.
Section 6. Other Powers and Duties. He shall have such
other powers and perform such other duties as may be provided by
the Council, the ordinances of the municipality, or the !-.ws of
the State, and shall transmit to his succ'es-Dr in office all
books, papers, records, documents and property,, together -'ith an
invoice of the same In his custody and- pertaining to his office.
Section 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances, particularl
Ordinance No. 413, in conflict or inconsistent herewith are here-
by repealed.
Section 8. This ordinance shall be of full force sand 'effect
from and after its nassage and publication as provided by law.
