HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Section 38 of Ordinance 391 (Water Service Charges) K � , Ordinance No. 527 AN ORDINANCE,AMENDING SECTION 38 OF ORDINANCE NO. 391 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 505 OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, RELATING TO PAYMENT OF BILLS AND MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE AND ENACTING SUBSTITUTE PROVISIONS THEREFOR BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA: Section 1. That Section 38 of ordinance No. 391 as amended by Ordinance No. 505 of the city ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa,, is hereby specifically repealed and that the following hall be hereinafter known as Section 38 of ordinance No. 391.0 Section 38. For the purpose of billing and collecting of water furnished to consumers of the City of Ames Water Department, certain districts are hereby established. A.(l) DISTRICT NO. 1. Beginning at the east corporate limits of the City of Ames at a point in the center line of Mth Street extended; thence west to the center line of Duff Avenue; the ** north to the center line of the alley or alley extended between Fifth Street and Sixth Street; thence west to the center line of Clark Avenue; thence south to the center of the main line of the Chicago & North Western Railway; thence west along said center line of the Chicago & North Western Railway to the center line of GrOX4 Avenue; thence north to the center line of Ninth Street; thence west to the center line of the north branch of the Chicago & North Western Railway; thence in a northwesterly direction along the center line of said railway to the north corporate limits; hence east following the corporation line to the east corporate lWts; thence south to the place of beginning. (2) DISTRICT NO. 2. Beginning at the east c©rperste limits at a point where the center line of the Chicago & Werth Western Railway intersects the corporation limits; thence treat along the center line of said Chicago & North Western Railway to the center line of Grand Avenue; thence north along the center Use of Grand Avenue to the center line of Ninth Street; thence west ate the center line of the north branch of the Chicago & North Western Railway; thence in a northwesterly direction along the center line of said Chicago & North Western Railway to the north corporate limits thence west to the north and south IA line of Section 3-S 24; ; thence south along the center line of said Section 3 to the center line of Lincoln Way; thence west to the center line or Ash Avenue; thence south along the center lane o f Ash Avenue to the center lime of Snapp Street; thence west along the center line of Knapp Street to the center line of Welch Avenue; thence south along the center line of Welch Avenue to the south corporate limits; thence east along the corporation line to the east corporate limits; thence north to the place of beginning. (3) DISTRICT NO. 3. All territory and consumers not col tained in Districts l and 2 as established by this ordinance. B. PAYMENT. The above net rates apply only when billed as follows: In District No. 1 as established by this ordinance on or before the twentieth day of the mouth. In District No. 2 on or before the first day of the month following date of invoice. In District No. 3 on or before the tenth day of the month. �IWhen not so paid the gross rate ten per cent (10%) above the met rate shall apply. All minimum charges are for one month orfraction thereof. • ,w2.. C, A consumer's deposit for service is required to secure payment of account. The amount of cash deposit required of each consumer shall be as determined by the City Clerk.
