HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending Ordinance 302, Organization, Officers, Power of the Hospital Board i Ordinance No. 488 AN' ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 302, PARTICULARLY SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 302 BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Ames. Iowa That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 302 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, is hereby specifically repealed and that the following shall be hereinafter known as Section 2 of Ordinance No. 302: Section 2. Organization, Officers, Power.--Such i Trustees shall, within ten days after their appointment, qualify by taking the oath of office and organize as a Hospital Board by the election of one of their` number as president. The City Clerk shall be the secretary of the Board. The City Treasurer shall serve as treasurer of said Board and shall have care and control 'of sL funds raised by virtue of the tax levy made by the City Council for the support of the hospital, and also all moneys due from the operation of the hospital, and pay out all money under the control of the said Board as ordered by it, but shall receive no compensation for his services. The trustees, secretary, or treasurer may receive reimbursement for personal expenses incurred as such officer, but an itemized statement of all such expenses shall be made under oath, filed with the secretary and 'allowed only by the affirmative vote of the Board. Such Board of Trustees shall be vested with authority to provide for the management, control, and goverment of the city hospital, and shall provide all weeded rules and regulations for the conduct thereof. In the management of said hospital no discrimination shall be made against practitioners of any school of ,r medicine recognized by the laws of the State of Iowa. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this amendment are hereby repealed. This amendment to Ordinance No. 302 of the City Ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa, shall be in force and effect from and after fits passage and publication as provided by law.
