Hi all,
Does repassage of a vetoed ordinance allow for amendments prior to the repass just like an ordinary
reading would allow? It appears likely that council will at least want to change the September 1, 2018
date within it, and hopefully make further changes as well in light of John's and others' concerns.
If repassage is constrained to the literally vetoed measure, then I am concerned that the current draft
agenda item to "repass" would not cover what council is likely to want to try to do -namely, reintroduce
the ordinance (again assuming repass alone won't work), make amendments, suspend rules, and adopt.
Maybe the final agenda packet will include the option of reintroducing the ordinance, but I can't tell.
What's the thinking on this?
Thanks,
David
