I own property in the SCAN district west of Lynn Ave. I have signed petitions opposing this ordinance as well I have sent many emails asking that the council consider numerous options. Please consider the facts that those of us west of Lynn Street based on the petitions submitted there is overwhelming support AGAINST the ordinance in this area. I would also like the council to consider allowing those of that do not have a LOC be given an opportunity to apply and be GRAND FATHERED, allowing us to bring the property up to code. Allowing this I do not believe will have a huge impact simply because many of those property owners who currently do not have the designation most likely will not be willing to spend the dollars to bring property up to code. In closing I trust that the council will be willing to compromise with us Property owners who in the past did not need the LOC simply because I had my own daughters living in our property. We purchased our property in good faith we had pride in our property and believed we are good neighbors. I would like the opportunity to keep my property values, because I am West of Lynn Street I am in a neighborhood that has a very high concentration of Rentals by limiting my property which sits among many properties with an LOC you will dramatically lower the valuation of my property.
